The Revenue Officer performs financial work involving overseeing collection of revenues for the city’s general fund, ensuring taxpayer compliance with local/state laws, and performing budget analysis work in developing revenue projections. To qualify, applicants must have a:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field
· Three (3) previous experience and/or training that includes municipal taxation, accounting, finance, budgeting, and personal computer operations
· Supervisory experience in managing an office and supervising employees is preferred
· Must be willing to acquire, possess, and maintain a valid Certified Municipal Revenue Officer certification and Certified Revenue Examiner certification
· Must be willing to acquire, possess, and maintain valid State of Alabama Notary Public certification. Must be able to be bonded and insured by the City’s insurance carrier
