The official publication of the Alabama League of Municipalities, The Alabama Municipal Journal is a monthly magazine which carries articles of interest to mayors, councilmembers, city clerks, city attorneys, municipal judges and support personnel employed by cities and towns.
The Alabama Municipal Journal reaches 4,500 subscribers throughout the state and the nation. It is published between the 15th and 18th of each month.
Subscriptions to the Alabama Municipal Journal are available for $24.00 per year. To subscribe, please write to the League and state that you would like to begin receiving our monthly magazine. In the letter, be sure to include your name and correct mailing address and enclose a check for $24.00 made payable to the Alabama League of Municipalities.

The Handbook is a concise guide to the law in Alabama regarding municipal corporations. Separate chapters cover the office of mayor; the municipal council; establishment of council committees; establishment of council procedure; and parliamentary procedure. Each chapter contains pertinent statutory citations, references to Attorney General's Opinions and Ethics Commission Rulings and citations to court decisions.
Methods of Extending Municipal Corporate Limits -- $10.00
This book explains in detail the steps to be followed to pursue each of the three methods available in Alabama for cities and towns to annex property. Sample ordinances, resolutions and forms are included in the publication to assist elected officials in this rather technical municipal function.
