Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Twanna received a B.S. in Political Geography from the University of Iowa and took graduate courses in Urban Planning there as well. She began working for the Alabama League of Municipalities in 1991 as an intern assigned to modify the general informational file system. She has since filtered throughout the office wearing several hats: she worked with the Legal Department as an assistant to the general counsel; she assisted with implementing what is now the CMO program; and she currently works with innovative survey software, creating surveys for the League as well as serving as the League's researcher.
Busy with an energetic preteen daughter, Twanna also teaches Metaphysical principles in early Saturday morning classes.
