Online convention registration will be available January 25, 2019. To make the registration process more efficient, delegates are encouraged to pre-register. Pre-registration will assist the League staff in making arrangements for attendance at this year’s convention. The deadline for pre-registration is 2:00 p.m. on April 12, 2019. After 2:00 p.m. on April 12, delegates must register at the Convention Registration Desk.
In order to ensure that there are no duplicate registrations, each registrant must use a separate email address. While we can accept registrations by fax, for security reasons we cannot accept registrations sent by email. Therefore, to expedite the registration process, we encourage each registrant to use their own email address, or obtain one, and register on-line. You can go to Gmail.com or Yahoo.com to create a free email account if you do not already have an email address.

$425 from March 30 - April 12 by 2:00 p.m. ($70 non-refundable registration fee for one (1) Spouse/Guest*)
$475 after April 12, 2019 (on-site registration) ($90 non-refundable registration fee for one (1) Spouse/Guest*)
Additional Guest Registration ($150 per additional Guest, fee is non-refundable**)
Payment in full must be received by the deadlines above, or the registrations will be subject to a fee increase.
The full convention fee covers all events for each delegate. To view events, go to www.alalm.org.
The astronomical cost of putting on a convention makes it impossible to allow free admittance of guests of delegates at any function. Delegates are urged to pre-register guests. For children ages 6 and over as well as other guests, the full registration fee must be paid.
To view a list of events that registered spouses/guests/children are eligible to attend, please visit www.alalm.org. There is no extra charge for children under 6; however, children must be pre-registered.
*Spouse/guest registration cannot be paid by the municipality; therefore, registration must be paid by the official at the time of registration.
The spouse/guest registration fee is restricted to persons who are not municipal or public officials, are not affiliated with any exhibitor, and would have no professional reason to attend the convention. Spouse/Guest registration is available ONLY for a person who accompanies a full convention registrant, and only to those who do not have any other reason to attend the ALM Convention.
Spouse/Guest registration does not include session attendance. The spouse/guest registration permits an individual to accompany a full convention registrant to events specifically listed in the official convention program as open to a Spouse/Guest. Eligibility of guests is subject to verification.
**To register additional guest(s), there is an additional non-refundable fee of $150 per guest. Spouses/Guests are not eligible to attend the convention training sessions or obtain credit hours in the Certified Municipal Official Program.
In order to receive a partial refund of your registration fee, your cancellation request must be received in writing by April 12, 2019. A $60 administrative fee will be charged for all cancellations regardless of the reason for cancellation, including medical emergencies. No refunds will be given after this date. Registration fees for spouses/ guest are nonrefundable. ALM cannot make exceptions to this policy.
Please read the GENERAL INFORMATION for ALL HOTELS and the specific information for each of the hotels before making your reservations. The Alabama League of Municipalities has a room block at two hotels for this year's convention, the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel and The Battle House Hotel & Spa Mobile.
Please make your reservations at one of the hotels. ALM has negotiated discounted rates for hotel stays during our Convention.

General Information for the following hotels:
- ROOM BLOCK OPENS FEBRUARY 1, 2019 at 9:00 A.M. CST
- If you make reservations before then, you will not be in the ALM room block, nor will you receive the discounted Convention Room Rates.
- You will need to identify with the hotel that you are making reservations in the Alabama League of Municipalities Room Block.
- There WILL be an individual name required for each room reserved.
- Limit of five (5) reservations per caller.
- There will be a one night’s NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT REQUIRED and must be secured with a major credit card. Reservations will be cancelled if the credit card that is used to guarantee the reservation is declined or invalid when the hotel takes the non-refundable deposit.
- Deadline for making reservations is April 3, 2019.

AAPPA Convention

Distinguished Service Awards
The League presents municipal service awards during its convention to municipal officials and staff recognizing 20, 30, 40 and 50 years of service earned during the previous calendar year. Awards are only presented to individuals who notify the League of a service milestone by March 1, 2019. Awards will not be given to those who fail to notify the League by the deadline.

The League will hold the Municipal Flag Showcase at this year’s Convention in Mobile.
- Flags will be prominently displayed in the Arthur R. Outlaw Convention Center.
- Please check your flag in at the main ALM Convention Registration Desk on Saturday or Sunday, May 4 - 5, during regular registration hours. Flags must be checked in NO LATER than 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5.
- You must provide a flag stand for your Municipal Flag. Please label your flag stand with your contact information.
- It is the responsibility of the municipality to pick up their flag from the display area by the close of Convention at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7. The League is not liable for flags or stands not picked up by this time.
- Deadline for submitting the application form is March 25, 2019.
- A confirmation will be emailed to you prior to this event. - What size flag? The standard size flag is 3 feet by 5 feet. Flag sizing should be close to this size.
- What height does your flag pole need to be? The average height is 6 feet to 8 feet. The height should not be over 8 feet if at all possible.
